Barnes has lived a long life. Crafted in India, this ivory elephant travelled across the continent with the Church Family, before being brought back to England along with many other antiquities to form a treasure trove of memories. Barnes the Elephant was gifted to my Grandmother where it was displayed in a glass cabinet amongst other antiquities. As a young boy I discovered the elephant behind the glass and it always captured my imagination.
